australian looking for work in the uk

I am a 23 year old Australian structural/civil draftsman with 5 years experience. Im am looking at taking a working holiday to the uk next year. I was just wondering if anyone had attempted to get work in the uk from another country, and if they have any tips for getting work. Does drafting change dramatically in a different country?
